REQUIRED WAIVER
Please be aware of the following issues and consult your physician before using the sauna
Medications
Some medications including diuretics, barbiturates and beta-blockers and others may impair t he body's natural heat lossmechanisms. Over-the-counter drugs, such as antihistamines, may also cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.
Cardiovascular Conditions
Individuals with cardiovascular conditions or problems (hypertension/hypotenslon), congestive heart failure, impaired coronary circulation or those who are taking medications, which might affect blood pressure, should exercise extreme caution when exposed to prolonged heat.
Alcohol
Alcohol increases the heart rate, which may be increased by heat in the sauna. Further, alcohol may decrease your judgment regarding any negative reactions to the high heat.
Chronic Conditions
Chronic conditions including Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Central Nervous System Tumors, Lupus, Diabetes wit h Neuropathy and others are associated with impaired ability to sweat.
Joint Injury/Infections
If you have a recent joint injury, it should not be heated for the first 48 hours after an injury or until t he hot and swollen symptoms subside. If you have a joint or joints that are chronically hot and swollen, these joints may respond poorly to vigorous hearing of any kind. Vigorous heating is strictly contra-indicated in cases of enclosed infections such as dental, in joints or in any other tissues.
Implants
Metal pins, rods and artificial joints generally do not absorb the infrared rays. Silicone does absorb the energy, but does not melt until over 392 degrees Fahrenheit. If any pain is experienced near implants during sauna session, usage should be discontinued.
Pregnancy
An elevated body heat from the sauna may result in fetal damage. If you are pregnant or are expect you may be pregnant, you should not use the sauna.
Elderly
The body's ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. Circulatory conditions and decreased sweat
gland function may decrease its natural cooling processes. Age
The core body temperature of children rises much faster than results. This occurs due to a higher metabolic rate per body mass, limited circulatory adaptation to increased cardiac demands and the inability to regulate body temperature by sweating. A pediatrician written consent will be required for any client under the age of 18.
The sauna should be avoided by anyone who is predisposed to dizziness, bleeding or anyone who has a fever.
